Challenged Athletes Foundation
Join me in supporting CAF!
Dear Friends and Family,
I’m taking on a new challenge and I’m writing to ask for your help. By donating to my fund-raising effort and helping me reach my goal, you will help people with physical challenges realize their dreams. Your donation will go to the Challenged Athletes Foundation, an incredible 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides funding and inspiration to hundreds of physically challenged athletes each year so they can participate, compete and live life to the fullest.
The funds you donate will support athletes who can’t always get to the starting line: swimmers missing limbs, paraplegics who use handcycles to bike and runners who race using artificial limbs. These challenged athletes want to participate rather than sitting on the sidelines of life, but they face a major obstacle. They don’t lack fitness, desire or skill. It is only a lack of funding that stands in the way of their dreams. This isn't just about sports and competition. It is about providing hope, inspiration and opportunities to people who are faced with challenges.
High-tech running prosthetics are very expensive. Learning to swim when you lack a limb (or limbs) requires special coaching. And handcycles can cost upwards of $2,500. But with our help, challenged athletes can bridge the financial gap and overcome funding obstacles blocking their path to achievement.
This is a picture of Blake and Brady with one of their hero's-- 7 year old Cody McCasland. Cody was born with a condition called sacral agenesis and had to have his legs amputated through the knee when he was just 15 months old. He showed his true colors when only two months later he was walking on prosthetics and mobile like any other kid his age. Eager to run like other kids, Cody received his first pair of running legs by the age of five and hasn't stopped since. This picture was taken in San Diego last fall where we met up with Cody as fellow participants in a Challenged Athlete's Foundation Triathlon.
Please partner with me by making a donation through my web site link below and join me in making dreams come true for challenged athletes. Help get challenged athletes like Cody off of the sidelines – and into the game. Thank you.
